400G optical transceivers

Sanopti’ s 400G QSFPTransceiver series includes QSFP-DD and QSFP112.

400G QSFP Transceiver follows the same port densities system as the QSFP and QSFP28, but the QSFP-DD will support eight lanes instead of four lanes for the QSFP and QSFP28, which double the density.

QSFP112 is the module and cage/connector system based on current QSFP, targeting to support the 112Gb/s per lane speed in a 4x lane QSFP system and to enable the QSFP 400G interconnect ecosystem. This will greatly help the legacy QSFP users upgrade the link bandwidth to 400G per port with lower cost and shorter transition time.

Sanopti also provides 400G QSFP-DD DAC and 400G QSFP-DD AOC products.

Featured 400G Optical Transceiver

Different types of 400G optical modules are suitable for different applications and environments. We provide optical transceivers with different wavelengths and interfaces to meet customer needs.

400G QSFP112 Transceiver

The 400G QSFP112 transceiver converts 4 channels of 100 Gb /s (PAM4 ) electrical input data to 4 channels of parallel optical signals, each capable of 100 Gb /s operation for an aggregate data rate of 400Gb/s. An optical fiber cable with an MTP/MPO-12 connector can be plugged into the QSFP112 DR4 module receptacle .Host FEC is required to support up to 0.5 km fiber transmission

400G QSFP-DD Transceiver

Sanopti's 400G QSFP56-DD transceivers are addressing the technical challenges of achieving high speed 400G interconnections. The transceivers have four optical lanes that operate at 100Gbps PAM4 modulation, providing solutions up to 400 Gbps.

What 400g Transceivers Are Available From Sanopti?

Sanopti supports a full range of 400G optical transceivers in QSFP-DD form factors, 400G AOCs and DACs, and 400G breakout cables.

What Are The Benefits Of Moving To 400g Technology?

Sanopti’s 400G platforms allow data centers and high-performance computing environments to address growing needs for higher bandwidth at lower cost and power per gigabit. Key benefits include: ●Increase switching bandwidth by a factor of 4. Migrating from 100G to 400G systems increases the bandwidth per RU from 3.2-3.6T to 12.8-14.4T / RU. ●Enable higher density 100G ports using optical or copper breakouts. A 32 port 1RU 400G system enables 128 100GE ports / RU. This enables a single Top of Rack (TOR) leaf switch to connect to multiple racks of servers or Network Interface Cards (NICs). ●Reduce the number of optical fiber links, connectors, and patch panels by a factor of 4 when compared to 100G platforms for the same aggregate bandwidth. ●Enable 2-4X lower cost and power / bit, reducing capex and opex.

Can I Have An Osfp On One End Of A 400g Link, And A Qsfp-Dd On The Other End?

Yes. The OSFP and QSFP-DD describe the physical form factor of the module. As long as the Ethernet media types are the same (i.e. both ends of the link are 400G-DR4, or 400G-FR4 etc.), OSFP and QSFP-DD modules will interop with each other.

Can I Plug An Osfp Module Into A Qsfp-Dd Port, Or A Qsfp-Dd Module Into An Osfp Port?

No. The OSFP and the QSFP-DD are two physically distinct form factors. If you have an OSFP system, then OSFP optics and cables must be used. If you have a QSFP-DD system, then QSFP-DD optics and cables must be used.

What Form-Factors Are Used For 400g Optics And Cables?

A: There are two form-factors defined for 400G optical modules and cables: ●The OSFP: The OSFP stands for “Octal Small Form-factor Pluggable”. It is described as an “Octal” module because the electrical interface of an OSFP connector consists of 8 electrical lanes, running at 50Gb/s each, for a total of bandwidth of 400Gb/s. ●The QSFP-DD: The QSFP-DD stands for “Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable (QSFP) – Double Density (DD)”. The electrical interface of a QSFP-DD connector also has 8 electrical lanes, running at 50Gb/s each, for a total bandwidth of 400Gb/s. The QSFP-DD form factor is similar to the QSFP form factor, except a second row of electrical contacts has been added to increase the number of high-speed electrical lanes from 4 (in a QSFP) to 8 (in a QSFP-DD).

Can A Qsfp Module Be Plugged Into A 400g Qsfp-Dd Port?

Yes. A QSFP (40G or 100G) module can be inserted into a QSFP-DD port as QSFP-DD is backward compatible with QSFP modules. When using a QSFP module in a 400G QSFP-DD port, the QSFP-DD port must be configured for a data rate of 100G (or 40G).

How To Choose The Product You Want?

Form Factor

The small form-factor pluggable transceivers have derivated into multiple form factors. Sanopti's hot type include 400G types are QSFP-DD, QSFP112 and QSFP. Transceivers with different form factors support corresponding speed. Check the equipment port types, choose a matching form factor.

From Wavelength

In fiber optics, wavelength is one of the biggest limiting factors. Wavelength will heavily influence a system's speed, coverage, compatible hardware, and other aspects of network design.

Sanopti offers three wavelengths to choose from. Please note:

·850nm signals can only propagate about 500m.

·1310nm signal can propagate 40 kilometers.

·The 1550nm signal can exceed 40 kilometers.

Consideration range

How far does the signal travel? When you choose a wavelength, you already consider some range, but there's more to the equation. The range of influence between single-mode (SMF) and multimode fiber (MMF) is quite large. Single-mode fiber has greater coverage but costs more, while multi-mode fiber has higher data rate capabilities and offers a price advantage.

What Should You Pay Attention To When Purchasing 400G Optical Transceiver?

1.The optical module device will be encrypted to a certain extent to match with its own device. Inclusive manufacturers need to perform different inclusive matching on the optical module to perfectly solve the matching problem.

2.Service life: The service life of a normal optical module is 5 years, depending on the usage of the optical module in terms of time, if there is a problem in about 1 or 2 years, then it can be roughly judged that the The quality of the module itself has a problem Or a used module.

3.Optical module performance: The performance indicators that affect the optical module mainly include average transmitted optical power, extinction ratio, optical signal center wavelength, overload optical power, receiving sensitivity, and receiving optical power. By detecting whether these values are within the normal range The performance of the optical module can be judged. It can be viewed through DDM information. In addition, it can also be judged by whether the signal of the optical module is stable during transmission, whether there is delay, and whether there is packet loss.
